It was great to attend this event, to have an opportunity to be heard! Well organized and informative, cool that it was held in a church. Thanks to all our Massachussetts leaders for attending!

Despite rain and wind and severe weather warnings, 200 people gathered in Boston to hear UCC Minister Jim Antal, USC's Nancy Cole, City of Boston Environment Dept Director Bryan Glascock, State Rep Frank Smizik, State Senator Marc Pacheco, and Congressman John Tierney speak. Dean Stevens kicked us off with a rousing performance of two songs, Lilah Glick of Clean Water Action emceed, and Loie Hayes of Boston Climate Action Network closed by urging everyone to follow up on the action suggestions on the event program and take at least one more climate action this weekend. The speakers were all obviously very knowledgeable and passionate about the issue and offered great encouragement. Many participants came early to talk with environmental groups at the Green Action Fair, including a hardy band of 20 of so who walked three miles from Cambridge City Hall, including Councillor Henrietta Davis. State Rep William Brownsberger also attended. We ended with some chants and photos in the front of the church, inside due to the weather. Two intrepid cyclists left from the church on their way to the Concord Step It Up. We'll be posting photos as soon as we can and uploading video to You Tube and our website: www.stepitupboston.com.

Here's a photo grab from a video I'm working on. Video should be up tonight. This pic shows half of audience doing cheer at end. Hopefully someone will post a sharper pic of whole crowd soon.

Fantastic group of speakers and political leaders came to speak including Rep John Tierney. Their positive attitude and endorsement of climate action and green jobs was great news and furthered my hope and energy.
