At noon, Ottawa's mayor, Robert M. Eschbach, spoke, and four other local speakers followed. We concluded by singing, Woodie Guthrie's This Land is Your Land.

It was a beautiful autumn Saturday in the park.

At three o'clock, Craig Zabel presented an excellent slide show at Rddick Library.

Tomorrow, at the Chicago Humanities Festival, we will give Bill McKibben photopies of the Ottawa Times coverage, including last night's strong editorial endorsing Step It Up 2007.

All in all, we had a splendid day!

BTW, U.S. Representative Jerry Weller missed the entire week in Congress.
